Site description
An archipelago, about 20 km from the mainland. The largest island, Heimøya, is 1 km long. Two of the islands are connected with a mole. The largest islands are covered with heathland Empetrum/Calluna, mixed with bushes Rubus/Cornus. Fishermen lived on Sklinna up to the first half of this century, but now the only settlement is the lighthouse (manned year-round) on Heimøy.
Key biodiversity
The breeding colony of Phalacrocorax aristotelis is one of the largest in Norway.
