Site description (2000 baseline):

A heathland with bogs and inland dunes, dry grassland, rivers and wet woodland. It has been used for military purposes for about 100 years.

The main threat is the conclusion of military use of the site and a change to other uses, including urban and infrastructure developments (`Other' threat, above).
