A mosaic of about 30 fish-ponds, some with small islands and extensive emergent vegetation, Mixedforests and extensively managed or abandoned fields. Listed as an IBA since 1994 [2, 3, 1]. Almost fully protected: there is a 97.5% overlap with Satini ponds restricted nature reserve, a candidate SPA. The gap between IBA and pSPA boundaries is mostly due to differences in methods of boundary setting.
