Besides the trigger species the following species are confirmed or likely to be breeding: Little Penguin, Sooty Shearwater, Broad-billed Prion, Fairy Prion, Paradise Shelduck, Mallard, Pied Shag, Spotted Shag, White-faced Heron, Australasian Harrier, Variable Oystercatcher, Banded Dotterel, Southern Black-backed Gull, Red-billed Gull, White-fronted Tern, NZ Pigeon, Morepork, NZ Kingfisher, NZ Pipit, South Island Fernbird, South Island Robin, South Island Tomtit, South Island Fantail, Silvereye, Bellbird, Tui, Skylark, Hedge Sparrow, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Redpoll, Yellowhammer, Starling, Australian Magpie.

Other species recorded: Little Shag, Royal Spoonbill, South Island Pied Oystercatcher, Turnstone, Eastern Bar-tailed God-wit, Black-billed Gull (EN), Black-fronted Tern (EN).
