Site description
An area of small ponds and canals (former peat-workings) interspersed with fens, reedbeds, swampy woodland and wet meadows, and located south of the city of Heerenveen, near to De Weerribben (064). Human activities include reed-harvesting (`Other' land-use, below).

Key biodiversity
A roost for geese Anser from surrounding feeding areas. Waterbird numbers quoted are rough estimates.
