Site description
A bay with mudflats, saltmarshes, dunes, sand and shingle-beaches and a lagoon.
Key biodiversity
The site is of international importance for wintering and migrating waterbirds, particularly waders. The site holds 20,000 or more waterbirds in winter (including Branta bernicla 2,550; Fulica atra 2,396; Calidris alpina 9,180; Larus ridibundus 10,000 individuals).
