A 70-km-long and up to 3-km-wide stretch of the River Ipe¾ flood-plain situated next to the Hungarian border. The river channel supports water-fringe vegetation and meanders through a flat landscape of extensively-managed wet meadows, arable land and scattered rural settlements.
An important site for breeding species of riverine habitats and wet grassland. Porzana parva, Jynx torquilla and Locustella fluviatilis also breed.
