Site description (baseline)
An upland landscape supporting Fagus and Quercus forest, native montane coniferous forest and near-natural montane mixed forest (Fagus-Abies-Picea). Interspersed with these are areas of heathland, dry grassland, moist meadow, lightly improved meadow and pasture, raised bog, reed- Phragmites and sedge-beds, springs and screes.



Key biodiversity
An important site for breeding species of upland and forest habitats such as Tetrao urogallus, Glaucidium passerinum and Aegolius funereus.



Protected areas
National Partial International LowIBA overlaps with Landscape Protected Area and Nature Reserve. IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
