Site description
A mountainous IBA with a mixture of forest and, above 1,900 m, alpine pasture. Below 1,700 m Picea forest dominates and is replaced between 1,700-1,900 m by mixed stands of Larix, Picea and Pinus. In most places the forests are intensively managed, with many open areas as a result of historical grazing. Above the treeline, large areas of subalpine and alpine pasture occur.
Key biodiversity
An important area for breeding and resident species characteristic of subalpine forest and alpine pasture.
