Site description
A mire with a large number of shallow (<1 m), relict lakes. Habitats include patchy bogs, fens, marshy wooded meadows, and woods. There is practically no exploitative land-use.

Key biodiversity
Nehatu mire is an important roosting place in autumn for migrating Grus grus.
