Site location and context
A mountain with a variety of habitats including conifer forests, subalpine grassland, scrub, cliffs and arable land.

Key biodiversity
This is an important site for raptors and passerines typical of Mediterranean scrub and forest.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are the burning of vegetation, expansion of the road network, and hunting. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.

Protected areas
National None International Partial5,300 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Samos: Oros Kerketefs-Mikro kai Megalo Seitani-Dasos Kastanias kai Lekkas, 6,400 ha).
