Site description (2000 baseline)
The IBA is situated on a low-lying terrace of the Danube river. The site includes natural wetland in the east, a shallow lake with reedbeds (Phragmites), and small pools for fish breeding. There are Salix trees and Populus plantations in the south.

Key biodiversity
This is an important site for passage and breeding waterbirds. Passage species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aythya nyroca and Haliaeetus albicilla.
