The fish-farm consists of one large and six small fish-ponds with shallow water, situated in a previously natural wetland. Aquatic vegetation is generally poorly-developed although in the largest pond there are abundant submerged plants.
The site is of importance chiefly for passage waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Phalacrocorax pygmeus (passage).
