A shallow bay in the straits of öresund, situated 20-30 km to the north of a new bridge linking Sweden and Denmark. The beaches are of sand and clay; grazed meadows are also present.
This is important as a stop-over site for passage wildfowl and waders, as well as for wintering wildfowl (for example, Anas penelope, Aythya fuligula and Bucephala clangula).
