Site description
A non-navigable tidal branch of the River Weser, with mudflats and fringed by grassland and reedbeds (Phragmites).
Key biodiversity
The site holds 20,000 or more waterbirds in winter, on a regular basis. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (10 breeding pairs).
