Site description (2009 baseline):

Located in the north-eastern part of Luzhai County, including Mulong and Daping villages. The topography in the IBA is mainly low and intermediate-height mountains.

Non-bird biodiversity: Important plants include Liriodendron chinense. Animals include Manis pentadactyla, Viverra zibetha, Viverricula indica, Cervus unicolor and Moschus berezovskii.

Established as the county-level Lagou Birds Nature Reserve in 1982.
