Lying c.40 km north of Gorgan, the site comprises a small freshwater lake with some emergent marsh vegetation. It is surrounded by grassy steppe and arable land.
Key biodiversity
See box for key species. A wintering area for a wide variety of waterfowl including good numbers of Cygnus olor and Mergellus albellus. The surrounding plains are probably an important staging area for Charadrius asiaticus.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No conservation measures are known to have been proposed and there is no information on threats to the site.
