Site description (2007 baseline)
Heathland overlying magnesium silicate rocks, with areas of deep peat, wet flush and mire. Plant communities present include herb-rich sedge grass heath and also species-poor wet and dry heaths. The IBA holds a rich assemblage of breeding birds.
