Site description
This Marine IBA is identified using seaward extensions around breeding colonies. It originates from the Canada Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and falls within the Atlantic, Northwest FAO ocean region. The site covers an area of 2863 km2 and is 22 km away from the closet coastline. The depth ranges from 0 to 320 m, mean annual sea surface temperature falls between 3.53 and 4.4 °C and mean annual chlorophyll-a concentrations found to range between 1.01 and 10.86 mg/m3.

3 species trigger IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. Seaward extensions around breeding colony; Gannet Islands include key near-colony areas for breeding populations of Atlantic Puffin (LC) 111836-141659 individuals, Common Murre (LC) 75704-179798 individuals and Razorbill (LC) 8100-15390 individuals.
