Site description
This site includes all of the flood-plain between Dorchester and Poole Harbour, with lowland wet grassland the dominant habitat.

First identified in 2000. Descriptive text and bird data refer to the 2000 Inventory.

The IBA is important for wintering wildfowl.

The Purbeck BAP has been prepared, and advisory work is underway.

National Partial International NoneIBA partly or wholly overlaps with the following national designated areas. Sites of Special Scientific Interest: East Holme Meadows, East Stoke Fen, Povington and Grange Heaths, Turners Puddle Heath, Winfrith Heath, Worgret Heath.
