Site description (baseline)
A site in the central Apennines. Gole di Antrodoco-Monte Giano and Monte Cabbia constitute a predominantly mountainous area, while Cicolano-Val Malito and Pian di Rascino are mainly cultivated uplands. The principal habitats are broadleaved woodlands, rocky areas, scrub, grasslands and cultivated land (mainly wheat). Dominant land-uses are agriculture, forestry and hunting.
Key biodiversity
An important breeding site for birds of prey and lowland gamebirds.
