The third largest National Park in Sumatra which located on the south-west of Sumatra.
Although some threatened wetland birds such Lesser Adjutant Leptoptilus javanicus and White-winged Duck Cairina scutulata exist in this area, but this area is characteristized with restricted-range bird species and bird species in medium-high level altitude. Two restricted-range bird species identified near Liwa are Black-crowned Pitta Pitta venusta and Trichastoma buettikoferi. Along the beach in Belimbing Beach Thick-knee Burhinus giganteus (the only record for Sumatra ?).
