Site description
This Marine IBA is identified using seaward extensions around breeding colonies. It originates from the Australia Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and falls within the Pacific, Western Central FAO ocean region. The site covers an area of 16833 km2 and borders the coastline. The depth ranges from 0 to 20 m and mean annual sea surface temperature falls between 26.58 and 27.63 °C.

Key biodiversity
4 species trigger IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. Seaward extensions around breeding colonies; Manowar & Rocky Islands, Bountiful Islands include key near-colony areas for breeding populations of Brown Booby (LC) 13500-28800 individuals, Lesser Frigatebird (LC) 23100-23100 individuals, Great Crested Tern (LC) 39000-45000 individuals and Roseate Tern (LC) 3861-5643 individuals.
