Site description
A permanently flooded area of flood-plain, c.30 km long and c.2-3 km wide, adjacent to the Bodrog and Tisza rivers. The high groundwater level results from the effects of the dam at Tiszalök. Human activities include grazing, mowing, arable farming, angling and hunting.

Key biodiversity
An important site for wetland birds and raptors.
