Site description (baseline)
The site comprises slightly improved grasslands, arable land, Fagus, Quercus, Alnus
forest, small villages and urban areas.
The site is important for grassland species. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats include agriculture, urbanization, airfield expansion and disturbance from tourism. There is a proposal to create a Biosphere Reserve of 2,300 ha in the IBA.
None1,800 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (1,800 ha).
