Ornithological information: Besides the trigger species the following are confirmed or likely to breeding or resident at these sites: Little Penguin, Fluttering Shearwater, Common Diving Petrel, Black Shag, Little Black Shag, Pied Shag, Little Shag, White-faced Heron, Reef Heron, Mallard, (Grey Duck), Australasian Harrier, Variable Oystercatcher, Southern Black-backed Gull, Red-billed Gull, Caspian Tern, White-fronted Tern, NZ Pigeon, Shining Cuckoo, Long-tailed Cuckoo, Morepork, NZ Kingfisher, Welcome Swallow, Grey Warbler, NZ Fantail, North Island Tomtit, North Island Robin, Silvereye, Bellbird, Tui,Hedge Sparrow, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Mallard, Yellowhammer, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Redpoll, House Spar-row, Starling.
