Site description
This Marine IBA is identified using tracking data. It falls within the Argentina Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the Atlantic, Southwest FAO ocean region. The site covers an area of 157886 km2 and is 31 km away from the closet coastline. The depth ranges from 18 to 103 m, with a mean annual wind speed of 2.03 m/s, mean annual sea surface temperature falls between 11.16 and 15.74 °C and mean annual chlorophyll-a concentrations found to range between 0.92 and 2.15 mg/m3.

Key biodiversity
3 species trigger IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. BirdLife analyses of tracking data estimates that 2352-3920 individuals of Northern Royal Albatross (EN) from New Zealand are present at the site during the Non-breeding (Year-Round) life-history stage. 900000-7500000 individuals of Great Shearwater (LC) from Tristan da Cunha Islands are present at the site during the Non-breeding (Jan-Mar) life-history stage. 200880-502200 individuals of Manx Shearwater (LC) from UK and Iceland are present at the site during the Non-breeding (Nov-Feb) life-history stage.
