This Marine IBA is identified using tracking data. It falls within the St Helena (to UK) Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the Atlantic, Southeast FAO ocean region. The site covers an area of 52706 km2 and is 2269 km away from the closet coastline. The depth ranges from 148 to 3824 m, with a mean annual wind speed of 2.59 m/s, mean annual sea surface temperature falls between 12.51 and 15.55 °C and mean annual chlorophyll-a concentrations found to range between 0.26 and 0.41 mg/m3.

BirdLife analyses of tracking data estimates that 279-699 individuals of Tristan Albatross (CR) from Gough Island are present at the site during the Brood-guard (Mar-Apr), Incubation (Dec-Apr) and Post-guard (Year-Round) life-history stages. 2537-9540 individuals of Atlantic Yellow-nosed Albatross (EN) from Gough Island are present at the site during the Brood-guard (Nov-Dec), Incubation (Sep-Nov), Non-breeding (Sep-Feb) and Post-guard (Jan-Apr) life-history stages.
