Site description
This Marine IBA is identified using tracking data. It falls within the South Africa Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the Atlantic, Southeast FAO ocean region. The site covers an area of 13277 km2 and is 44 km away from the closet coastline. The depth ranges from 16 to 3895 m, with a mean annual wind speed of 2.39 m/s, mean annual sea surface temperature falls between 18.19 and 22.75 °C and mean annual chlorophyll-a concentrations found to range between 0.31 and 2.85 mg/m3.

Key biodiversity
1 species triggers IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. BirdLife analyses of tracking data estimates that 981-2617 individuals of Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross (EN) from Prince Edward Island are present at the site during the Post-guard (Jan-Apr) life-history stage.
