IBA Justification

The site was identified as important in 2009 because it was regularly supporting significant populations of the species listed below, meeting ('triggering') IBA criteria.

Populations meeting IBA criteria ('trigger species'):
Species Current IUCN Red List Category Season Year(s) Population estimate at site IBA criteria met
Green Peafowl Pavo muticus EN resident 2003 present A1
Mrs Hume's Pheasant Syrmaticus humiae NT resident 2004 present A3
Yunnan Nuthatch Sitta yunnanensis NT resident 2000 present A2, A3

The current IUCN Red List category may differ from that which was valid at the time of IBA criteria assessment (2009).

IBA Conservation

IBA conservation assessment
Year of assessment (most recent) State (condition) Pressure (threat) Response (action)
2008 not assessed low medium
Was the whole site assessed? State assessed by Accuracy of information
yes unset good

Pressure (threats to the trigger species and/or their habitats)
Threat level 1 Threat level 2 Timing Scope Severity Result
Biological resource use gathering terrestrial plants - unintentional effects (species being assessed is not the target) likely in long term (beyond 4 years) small area/few individuals (<10%) slow but significant deterioration low
Biological resource use hunting & collecting terrestrial animals - intentional use (species being assessed is the target) likely in long term (beyond 4 years) small area/few individuals (<10%) slow but significant deterioration low
Human intrusions and disturbance recreational activities likely in long term (beyond 4 years) small area/few individuals (<10%) slow but significant deterioration low
Residential and commercial development housing and urban areas likely in long term (beyond 4 years) small area/few individuals (<10%) slow but significant deterioration low
Transportation and service corridors roads and railroads likely in long term (beyond 4 years) small area/few individuals (<10%) slow but significant deterioration low

Response (conservation actions taken for the trigger species and/or their habitats)
Protected-area designation Management planning Other conservation action Result
Most of site (50-90%) covered (including the most critical parts for important bird species) A management plan exists but it is out of date or not comprehensive Substantive conservation measures are being implemented but these are not comprehensive and are limited by resources and capacity medium
