Abernethy Forest

Site description
The largest tract of native pinewood Pinus sylvestris in Britain, representing part of a once continuous area of woodland that covered the lower slopes of the Cairngorms. The site includes some completely undisturbed high forest, with a Juniperus scrub layer.
