Situated in the valley of the embanked Rhine, the IBA comprises Quercus-Ulmus and Quercus-Carpinus riverine forest, dry grassland, meadows, large gravel-pits, reedbeds (Phragmites), springs, arable land and orchards.
Key biodiversity
This is an important stop-over site for a range of passage waterbirds. Breeding species include Anas strepera, Alcedo atthis and Dendrocopos medius.
Protected areas
National Partial International LowIBA overlaps Nature Reserve. IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
