Site description
A very large heathland with streams, bogs and conifer plantations.

Key biodiversity
One of the most important areas for heathland birds in Denmark, holding significant numbers of Tringa glareola and other scarce heathland species. Tetrao tetrix used to breed at the site but went extinct during the 1980s. Several species listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive breed at the site, including Botaurus stellaris, Pernis apivorus, Circus aeruginosus, C. cyaneus, Pluvialis apricaria, Tringa glareola, Asio flammeus, Alcedo atthis and Lanius collurio.
