Site description
A large, mountainous area in the northern Apennines, including broadleaved (mainly beech Fagus) and coniferous woodlands, alpine grasslands and rocky areas, crossed by rivers and streams. The main land-uses are nature conservation, forestry, cattle-rearing and hunting.

Key biodiversity
Important for breeding species of forest and mountain.
