Crava-Morozzo lakes


Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
An area of broadleaved woodland and wetland in north-west Italy, 10 km east of the town of Cuneo. Habitats include wet grasslands, freshwater ponds and cultivated areas. The main human activities are nature conservation, tourism and agriculture.



Key biodiversity
Notable species include woodland-breeding passerines and migrating waterbirds.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No major threats are present. The site is a candidate Special Protection Area and has been a LIPU reserve since the 1970s.



Protected areas
National High International None300 ha of IBA covered by Regional Nature Park (Alta Valle Pesio, 3,955 ha).
