A mountainous area with cliffs, maquis, woodland, agricultural land, marshes, fast-flowing rivers and streams.
Key biodiversity
The site is important for raptors, particularly Aegypius monachus and Gyps fulvus, whose numbers are increasing. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aegypius monachus (1-10 wintering individuals); Tetrax tetrax (breeding).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The development of tourism in the area is a major threat. There is a LIFE project on vulture conservation.
