Site description
A bay with mudflats and rocky islets, sand-dunes, two estuaries and sand and shingle beaches. Fishing and hunting are the main human activities.

Key biodiversity
This is an important site for wintering waterbirds and for a tern colony, with nationally important numbers of Sterna hirundo (110 pairs).

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Tern colonies have suffered disturbance, mainly from recreational activities. Local authorities are now aware of the problem and disturbance has been reduced.

Protected areas
National Partial International High1,450 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (Embouchure du Jaudy, 1,450 ha). 9,900 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Estuaires du Trieux et du Jaudy, 11,770 ha).
