Site description (2003 baseline)
Gunung Mutis is the biggest mountain forest in western Timor and it has Eucalyptus urophylla vegetation (MacKinnon 1982, Coates 1997, Lesmana 2000).

Key biodiversity
The restricted-range bird in this area dominated by highland species such as Chestnut-backed Thrush Zoothera dohertyi and Olive-headed Lorikeet Trichoglossus euteles (Lesmana 2000).
