Area: 246,300 ha
Meratus mountains is an isolated area in Kalimantan. The mountains formed a 140 km long, where the southern most peak (1300 m) include in Martapura-Pleihari conservation area. Most of the forest up to 900 m already cleared.
Davison (1997) recorded 80 species during 10 days survey on October 1996 at 240-1600 m asl. This survey revorded some mountain bird species such as Mountain Barbet Megalaima monticola, Large Hawk-cuckoo Cuculus sparverioides, Temminck's Babbler Pellorneum pyrrogenys, White-crowned Forktail Enicurus leschenaulti, Everett's White-eye Zosterops everetti.
