Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
The largest area of inland sand-drifts in Europe, surrounded by forest and located west of the city of `s Hertogenbosch. Forest stands consist of deciduous/mixed woodlands and conifer plantations of various ages and under varying management regimes.

Protected areas
National High International None410 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (De Brand, 410 ha). 2,211 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Loonse en Drunense Duinen, 2,211 ha). 262 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Plantloon, 262 ha). 3,400 ha of IBA covered by National Park (Loonse en Drunense Duinen, 3,400 ha).
